Take charge of organising, overseeing, and running sports activities at schools in Singburi, Thailand. Your role will also include managing the program’s social media, getting promotional materials for marketing (like photos), arranging fundraising events, and enhancing the sports curriculum.
This program partners with a local organisation that provides valuable sports coaching and health care sessions for kids in Thailand.
We’re running a Multi-Sports Coaching project at schools, adding an important aspect to their current sports and health curriculum. This program gives kids more chances to engage in sports, as the existing curriculum only has one hour per week. It also introduces them to new sports they might not otherwise experience.
In our sports sessions, we aim to offer more than just sports training. We use coaching to improve the kids’ health, stamina, emotional well-being, and life skills like teamwork, leadership, decision making, and communication.
We also teach kids about personal health care and important topics like gender equality. All these activities happen on the sports field in a fun and interactive way!
Using sports can help any child’s personal development by promoting social interaction, knowledge, and passion – all crucial life skills leading to success. Physical exercise is a key part of a healthy lifestyle.
As an intern, you’ll play a key role in supporting the local team to develop, organise, supervise, and run the Multi-Sports Coaching Project. Here are some areas you may be involved in during this internship:
- Team management
- Training and guiding the sports coaching team
- Upholding the program’s philosophy (healthcare & development)
- Sports sessions
- Organisational management

Food & Accommodation
You will be housed in one of our 3 ‘Eco Houses’ near Singburi, central Thailand: Lemon House, Twin House and Brown House. They are all located riverside (River Noi – Little River) in the village of Tha Kham and depending on which house you are staying at, is about 8-15km from Singburi (10-15 minutes by car). The 3 houses sleep from 30 to 72 people.
All houses have a communal area where you can eat, relax, meet fellow participants or use the free Wifi. Rooms are single gender up to 4 people per room, and include a safety box (bring own padlock), hot shower, bed linen, mosquito protection, fan, and aircon from 20:00-08:00. Although not directly on site, there are laundry facilities offered by locals which many of our participants take advantage of (this will probably cost you 5฿ per item, otherwise you can easily wash your clothes by hand.)
For participants desiring more comfort and/or privacy, families, couples, and more mature participants, we recommend upgrading to a comfort room. These rooms have more amenities and may be in a different location than the standard rooms, which means that it may be noticeably quieter.
Important: A security cash deposit of 500THB is required for the key to your room. It is payable upon arrival in cash and will be returned when the key is given back at the end of your stay.
3 meals a day are provided on weekdays and 2 on weekends.
Food will be provided with simple homestyle meals prepared by locals, which are typical to the region, based on whatever fresh fruits and vegetables are in season at the time. You can expect lots of rice and noodles, vegetables, and occasionally some meat will be provided as well.
While we do our best to accommodate you, what we provide for most meals is local cuisine. If you are a picky eater, have dietary restrictions, or if you think that you will not be satisfied with the local dishes provided, you might want to consider supplementing our menu with your own western type foods and snacks that are more to your liking. Weekly trips to the supermarket in Singburi are provided from our accommodation and you can use our bikes to ride to a few convenience stores on other days.
Please keep in mind that refrigerator space is limited and to prevent insect infestation open food items are not allowed in the rooms.

November to Febuary is the best time to visit Thailand, with a pleasent temperature through most of the country. From March to May temperatures can get very hot. The monsoon rains start from about June to October. Showers usually are quite predictabe and come in short bursts, so this time of year can be great to visit, as everything is so green and there are fewer crowds!
Temperatures are around 30 degrees on average throughout the year. If in the North of Thailand in the winter, evenings can get quite chilly, so bring some warm clothes too!
Vietnam has one of the oldest cultures in South East Asia, creating a rich history with ancient traditions dating back thousands of years. It also has a large Chinese influence. Elders are very well respected in Vietnamese culture, the older you are, the more respect is shown to you. ‘Saving face’ is a concept shown by most Vietnamese people and is thought of as extremely important in their culture. This means that if you feel angered or annoyed by someone, you do not show it and remain respectful. If you lose your temper/ are rude, then this is seen as losing face and therefore a loss of reputation and self-respect.
Vietnamese is the most widely spoken language, other languages include Chinese, Khmer, Cham and tribal dialects. Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism are the main religious beliefs in Vietnam, and you will find many temples dotted around the country. You will often see the local people giving fruits and burning incense to give as offerings.
