Our Volunteer Projects in Goa
Project 1: Elderly Care
Modernisation often leaves elderly individuals without the family support they once had. In Goa, many older adults live in care homes, where they rely on companionship and support to brighten their days. As a volunteer, you can bring joy and comfort to their lives by simply being present.
Your Role:
- Engage residents in fun activities like games, colouring, and exercises.
- Listen to their stories and share yours—sometimes, a good conversation is all they need.
- Help with light chores such as cleaning and organizing.
- Celebrate festivals and birthdays with them.
- Teach basic mobile phone skills, such as storing numbers or sending messages.
- Accompany residents on outings to museums or other local attractions.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Project 2: Special Needs Support and Care for Adults
This program focuses on creating an inclusive space for adults with intellectual disabilities. With your help, we aim to foster a healthier, more compassionate society.
Your Role:
- Assist residents in learning and improving skills based on their abilities and interests.
- Provide physical support with tasks like walking, eating, or working on activities.
- Organize recreational activities, including singing, games, and exercises.
- Help residents feel valued and appreciated by sharing moments of joy and encouragement.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Project 3: School for the Deaf and Blind
This program is tailored to support children and young adults with dual sensory impairments and multiple disabilities, such as cerebral palsy. Volunteers assist in enhancing their quality of life and promoting independence through educational and therapeutic activities.
Your Role:
- Provide educational and vocational training.
- Assist with rehabilitation activities to improve motor and cognitive skills.
- Participate in community engagement efforts to raise awareness about disabilities.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
