The Women Empowerment project works to improve literacy and create professional development opportunities for Moroccan women and girls. Volunteers collaborate with local organizations in Rabat and nearby areas, primarily focusing on education and teaching. This project is designed to help women gain the skills and confidence needed to create brighter futures for themselves and their families.
Many women in Moroccan society did not get the chance to pursue their education or learn foreign languages due to lack of means or social obstacles. The Working with Women project aims to enable local Moroccan women to improve their literacy levels and to provide them with professional development opportunities. Volunteers work in local organizations in Rabat, or in surrounding areas, with local women and young girls. Volunteers will focus primarily on education and teaching during their time in Morocco.
Volunteer’s Role:
- Inspire and motivate young girls to achieve their goals
- Help women gain confidence and autonomy.
- Raise awareness about female capabilities.
Location
Rabat, Morocco’s capital, is a relaxed yet fascinating city on the Atlantic coast. It’s less chaotic than Marrakech but still full of character, with a UNESCO-listed medina, historic kasbahs, Andalusian gardens, and a stunning seafront. As the political and administrative hub of Morocco, Rabat blends modern infrastructure with traditional culture, making it an ideal location for volunteers to live and work.
