Involvement Volunteers International Highlights of the trip:
Honestly my entire trip was a highlight. Being in the school compound fully immersed on a local remote island made everyday full of indescribable experiences that I will cherish forever. The kids constantly being around me and seeing their smiles every day was so amazing and it is such an incredibly beautiful island to live on.
Comments on the team, food and accommodation:
Masi was helpful and easily contactable. Staying with the host family was really a great experience, I love them all so much. I stayed in the school computer room so it was a comfortable sized room. The food was challenging, especially because their diets are so different.
Any improvements to help us be better:
The allocation of money for food could have been more properly used as we were given no vegetables or fruit for extended periods of time and a lot of chicken noodles!
Also the money that was paid for the program could be better used to benefit the school as it wasn’t apparent that much of it went to the school to help.
Overall it was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go back 🙂
