Turtle Conservation in Sri Lanka Review

In search of a meaningful holiday I have selected volunteering in Sri Lanka and it was the best decision! Every day was an adventure, a discovery, a surprise. Not only have I enjoyed working with sea turtles, I also loved getting to know young people from different countries who care about the future of the planet. I loved teaching English to local kids in the afternoons. It was a perfect opportunity to gain a genuine local perspective—far beyond the usual tourist view.

Comments on local team, food and accommodation
The local team did their best introducing Sri Lankan culture and making all volunteers feel welcome and safe. Home made rice and curries as well as other traditional dishes were amazing! Accommodation in Ambalangoda was absolutely unique – you can feel part of the family. enjoy natural surroundings and experience local way of life.

Any improvements to help us be better?
Sometimes you feel bad if you don’t spend money when you’re taken to places and you’re expected to buy things or leave tips. Of course, you aren’t obliged to do it. but It’s a bit annoying at times.
